Blocking record falls for second time in a day at Club Worlds

Carol, with the help of Anne Buijs, blocks Manila's Lindsay Stalzer on her way to a new blocking record.

Manila, Philippines, October 18, 2016 - That blocking record of this morning by China's Olympic champion Zhu Ting with 9 stuffs for VakifBank Istanbul at the 2016 FIVB Women's Volleyball World Championship didn't stand for long.

Ana Carolina da Silva, better known as Carol, of Rexona Sesc Rio de Janeiro registered 10 blocks against hosts PSL - F2 Logistics Manila in the closing match of the opening day for a new competition best.

A few short hours after Zhu Ting shattered the record against Hisamitsu Springs Kobe of Adenizia Silva's 8 blocks in a single game (that stood since 2010 in Doha) for Sollys Osasco, Carol brought it back to Brazil.

The 25-year-old middle blocker of Rexona Sesc Rio contributed 10 blocks towards her team's total of 15 against PSL - F2 Logistics Manila, with her teammates gabi Guimaraes adding another 2 and Anne Buijs, Monique Pavao and Mayhara Da Silva one each.
