Hosts to take on Rexona-Sesc Rio in their first match

 

Manila, Philippines, October 14, 2016 - PSL-F2 Logisitics Manila - the Philippine Super League All-Stars who are hosts of the 2016 FIVB Volleyball Women's Club World Championship - take to the court for the first time on Tuesday, against the formidable opposition of Rio de Janeiro's Rexona-Sesc.

They are the first team from the Philippines to take part in the FIVB Volleyball Women's Club World Championship.

Rio de Janeiro, the reigning South American and Brazil Superleague champions, are taking part for the third time, after losing the gold medal to VakifBank Istanbul in 2013 in Doha and losing the bronze to Volero Zürich last year in Zurich.

- Playing their 9th game in the history of the FIVB Volleyball Women's Club World Championships, with a 4-4 record.
- Can become the fourth Brazilian club to claim the world title after Sadia Sao Paulo in 1991, Leite Moca Sorocaba in 1994 and Sollys Nestle Osasco in 2012.
