Rexona and Hisamitsu seek consolation 5th place

 

Manila, Philippines, October 23, 2016 - The battle for fifth place at the 2016 FIVB Women's Club World Championship pits the reigning Japan V.League champions Hisamitsu Springs Kobe against reigning Brazil and South American champions Rexona Sesc Rio de Janeiro to start the last day of competition at the Mall of Asia Arena in the Philippines capital.

Hisamitsu Springs can only hope to tie their previous two 5th places in their only appearances in the Club World Championship.

Rexona Sesc Rio de Janeiro can no longer improve on or tie their previous bests of silver in 2013 and fourth in 2015.

Hisamitsu Springs Kobe
- Hisamitsu Springs have played seven matches previously in the FIVB Club World Championships and have a 3-4 record.
- Two of their three wins were scored here in Manila over Asian opponents Bangkok Glass and PSL - F2 Logistics Manila.

Rexona-Sesc Rio de Janeiro
- Playing their 12th game in the history of the FIVB Club Worlds, with a 6-5 record.
- Playing their third match in the history of the competition against an Asian side, after shutting out hosts PSL - F2 Logistics Manila and Bangkok Glass here in Manila.
