Manila, Philippines, October 22, 2016 - The 2013 gold medallists take on the 2015 bronze medallists for a shot at a spot on the podium, VakifBank Istanbul clash with Volero Zurich in the bronze medal game of the 2016 FIVB Women's Club World Championship at the Mall of Asia Arena.
VakifBank can complete their set of medals, after their silver in 2011 in Doha and their gold in 2013 in Zurich.
Volero are playing in a bronze medal game for the fourth year running. They only managed to win once, when they beat Rexona-AdeS Rio de Janeiro in straight sets last year in Zurich to claim their only bronze in the history of the competition.
The two teams are playing against each other for the second time here in Manila. VakifBank came back from two sets down in pool play to force a tie-break, but Volero prevailed in that fifth set.
In the 2015-16 European Champions League VakifBank had knocked out Volero with two wins in the Play Offs. VakifBank Istanbul
