Volero Zurich claim second victim in Hisamitsu Springs Kobe

Manila, Philippines, October 19, 2016 - Volero Zurich scored their second straight victory after defeating Hisamitsu Springs Kobe 3-0 (25-19, 25-15, 25-17) in the first match of Day 2 of the 2016 FIVB Women's Club World Championship at the Mall of Asia Arena.

It was a big follow-up of the Swiss team's victory over Bangkok Glass in straight sets on the opening day and cemented their slot in the top four.



Volero Zurich overwhelmed Hisamitsu Springs in all departments. The most telling was their 44 attacks against 28 of Hisamitsu. Olesia Rykhliuk topscored with 19 markers, 15 of them on spikes.

Making its side of the court a no-fly zone, Volero Zurich also topped in blocks, making 11 compared to just one by Hisamitsu. Volero Zurich also had more service aces at 3-2.

The Swiss side led throughout the game and at no point were threatened by the Japanese.



Hisamitsu Springs absorbed their second defeat after losing 1-3 to Vakifbank Istanbul yesterday.
